South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD), in collaboration with BreastScreen NSW and Liverpool Powerhouse, is hosting a unique art-based workshop to support women aged 40-75 years of age in navigating breast screening.
This creative initiative uses community art-making and guided activities to:
- Encourage participation in breast screening
- Break down psychological, cultural and informational barriers to screening
- Promote awareness and health literacy in a welcoming, inclusive space
Participants will engage in hands-on art experiences to:
- Normalise conversations around women’s health and cancer screening
- Provide a safe space to explore attitudes and concerns about screening
- Deliver practical education through symbolic and tactile learning
- Foster intergenerational connection and empowerment
This workshop will have a maximum of 20 participants.
